FIT Asia's Global Online Lecture Series: Translating Literature: Balancing Style, Conveying Meaning—An Eclectic Approach to Literary Translation

FIT Asia (Asian Regional Center of the International Federation of Translators) is proud to present the third session of its high-end lecture series which will be broadcast globally on Monday: March 29, 2026, 16:30-17:45 (Beijing Time | 8:30-9:45 UTC), entitled Translating Literature: Balancing Style, Conveying Meaning—An Eclectic Approach to Literary Translation.

Sugeng Hariyanto, a senior faculty member at State Polytechnic of Malang, the Head of the Committee for Competency and Certification at the Association of Indonesian Translators (HPI), and the founder of Transkomunika Kencana, is invited as the keynote speaker. In this lecture, he will address the contemporary aesthetic paradox through a defense of the human layer in translation in the AI era by introducing the Literary Eclectic Approach.
