FIT prize winners announced

One of the most important and widely recognised functions FIT fulfils for its member associations is the awarding of FIT prizes and honourable mentions at FIT world congresses.

The 2025 FIT Awards Ceremony was held at the main hall of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on 4 September during the FIT World Congress and was followed by a cocktail reception for all attendees.

The FIT Awards Committee, comprising Eleanor Cornelius and María Galán Barrera, planned a very special ceremony where no detail was left to chance. The presentation of the winners, the commendation speeches, the beautiful trophies and certificates… it all added up to an unforgettable experience where key contributions to the translation, interpreting, and terminology professions took centre stage. 
The FIT Awards Committee’s work started months before Congress, planning the call for nominations, engaging with the venue organisers, and providing guidance to the juries of specialists who worked selflessly and tirelessly to select the winners in each category. The result was another wonderful celebration of these prestigious honours.
On behalf of the translation, interpretation, and terminology community, a big thank you to all organisers, jury members, association leaders who put forward nominees, and to FIT for this proud tradition that celebrates talent and gives visibility to our professions. 
The awards didn’t end with the Awards Ceremony, either! As a sequel, outgoing FIT President Alison Rodriguez awarded two Gold Pins at the closing ceremony of the World Congress in recognition of outstanding service to the Federation during the past mandate. The recipients were Daniel Müller, former secretary to FIT, and Ben Karl, Translatio Standing Committee chair.
