APTIF Welcomes New Members
November 28, 2022
Ratified by its Joint Committee, the Asia-Pacific Translation and Interpreting Forum (APTIF) proudly welcomes two new members, namely the Translators and Interpreters’ Association of Tehran (TIAT) and the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, making a total membership of 13 besides 2 observers.
Formerly known as Asian Translators Forum, APTIF was initiated in 1995 under the framework of the International Federation of Translators (FIT) to facilitate the exchanges among Asian translators, interpreters and other language professionals. Till now, ten sessions have been concluded in different countries and regions in Asia-Pacific.
In 2016, the APTIF Joint Committee was established to build the APTIF into a prominent and sustainable platform for translator associations and institutions in Asia and Oceania to exchange ideas and update development of the translation and interpreting profession.
