FIT Asia's Global Online Lecture Series —— The Malaysian Translator Certification System: A Journey of Passion and Purpose

FIT Asia (Asian Regional Center of the International Federation of Translators) is proud to present the fourth session of its high-end lectureseries, which will be broadcast globally on Sunday: September 20, 2026, 12:00–13:15 UTC (20:00–21:15 Beijing Time), with the theme The Malaysian Translator Certification System: A Journey of Passion and Purpose.
The upcoming lecture will feature a keynote delivery by Hasuria Che Omar, Associate Professor at Universiti Sains Malaysia, President of the Malaysian Translators Association (MTA), and a FIT Council Member.
In her lecture, Dr. Hasuria will present the establishment and development of the translator accreditation system in Malaysia, and further discuss the evolution and continuous professional development of the translation industry in an ever-changing digital environment. The session aims to offer actionable references for those who are still working on their certification programme at the moment, particularly in the Asian region.
As FIT Asia's annual flagship academic initiative, this lecture series will continue to gather leading scholars and industry trailblazers worldwide. By leveraging the power of online connectivity, it will link translation wisdom across Asia and the globe, driving innovation and elevation for the translation profession in the AI age.
