Co-hosted by the Translators Association of China (TAC), China Academy of Translation and Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU), The 34th Han Suyin International Translation Contest, as one of many events to be held to celebrate the 40th anniversary of TAC, will be co-organised by the Chinese Translators Journal and the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation of TFSU. 

As a signature event hosted by TAC, the Han Suyin International Translation Contest is one of the most prestigious and longest-established competitions in China, with more than 40,000 participants in 2021 alone.

The Contest, formerly known as the Youth Translation Contest initiated in 1986, was later renamed as the Han Suyin Translation Awards for Youth under the sponsorship of Dr Han Suyin in 1989. 

The event this year includes 20 competition categories, covering translation from Chinese into ten foreign languages, including English, French, Russian, Spanish, Arabic, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Italian. Call for registration and submission of translation works will close on 1 June 2022.
